Service Description

Do you want to lose up to 15% of your body weight over the next year in a safe and effective way? You will schedule a 15 minute weight loss consultation. Your meeting will be online or a phone consultation to see if you are eligible for semaglutide with Jennifer Hagood, our Family Nurse Practitioner. If eligible, you will be signed up for our weight loss monthly membership that includes a mandatory monthly consultation and also includes the medication. Cost is $250/month. Semaglutide is a drug that helps you lose weight. It is has been used since 2017 for diabetes. Research has shown that it is a very effective tool to lose weight as well. Wegovy is the branded weight loss drug of semaglutide in the injection form. There is also an effective pill form. Semaglutide injections are taken with a very small needle that you put in your abdomen once a week. Semaglutide in the pill form is taken once a day. Semaglutide decreases your appetite and makes you full quicker by slowing down how quickly food passes through your digestive track. It is highly effective because it is done once a week and you do not have to think about taking daily pills that aren't effective. You are not able to eat those extra servings. You are still appropriately hungry and will eat about 1/3-1/2 less food a day. It is important to eat healthy calories and to exercise to enhance results. You will likely be on semaglutide for over a year or more. You will be weaned off when you reach a healthy weight. Up to 2/3 of people taking semaglutide will gain the weight back when they stop taking it. This means you must make lifestyle changes to keep the weight off after you are weaned off the medications. Studies show: 14.9% mean weight loss vs 2.4% (~6 lb) weight loss with placebo at 68 weeks
